Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for (A)the one who loves [a]his neighbor has fulfilled the Law. For this, “(B)You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “(C)You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love [b]does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore (D)love is the fulfillment of the Law.

11 Do this, knowing the time, that it is (E)already the hour for you to (F)awaken from sleep; for now [c]salvation is nearer to us than when we first believed. 12 (G)The night is almost gone, and (H)the day is near. Therefore let’s rid ourselves of (I)the deeds of darkness and put on (J)the armor of light. 13 Let’s [d](K)behave properly as in the day, (L)not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and debauchery, not in strife and jealousy. 14 But (M)put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh (N)in regard to its lusts.

Principles of Conscience

14 Now (O)accept the one who is (P)weak [e]in faith, but not [f]to have quarrels over opinions. (Q)One person has faith that he may eat all things, but the one who is (R)weak eats only vegetables. The one who eats is not to (S)regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to (T)judge the one who eats, for God has (U)accepted him. (V)Who are you to judge the [g]servant of another? To his own [h]master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

(W)One person [i]values one day over another, another [j]values every day the same. Each person must be (X)fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and the one who eats, [k]does so with regard to the Lord, for he (Y)gives thanks to God; and the one who does not eat, it is for the Lord that he does not eat, and he gives thanks to God. For not one of us (Z)lives for himself, and not one dies for himself; for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore (AA)whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end (AB)Christ died and lived again, that He might be (AC)Lord both of the dead and of the living.

10 But as for you, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or you as well, why do you (AD)regard your brother or sister with contempt? For (AE)we will all appear before the judgment seat of God. 11 For it is written:

(AF)As I live, says the Lord, (AG)to Me every knee will bow,
And every tongue will [l]give praise to God.”

12 So then (AH)each one of us will give an account of himself to God.

13 Therefore let’s not (AI)judge one another anymore, but rather [m]determine this: (AJ)not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s or sister’s way. 14 I know and am convinced [n]in the Lord Jesus that (AK)nothing is [o]unclean in itself; but to the one who (AL)thinks something is [p]unclean, to that person it is [q]unclean.
